Join your friends and colleagues Friday, May 8 at Oakton's Des Plaines campus for an afternoon of fun, food, activities, and celebration.
These family friendly festivities mark the closing ceremony of our golden 50th anniversary.

The fun includes:
3:30 p.m. Spring 5K Fun Run/Walk
5 p.m. 50 Fest -- food, music, games and more!

Join us rain or shine!
The event includes exciting activities for attendees of all ages.
It is FREE to attend and open to the entire community.
Registration is required 
Participation in the 5K is not required to attend 50 Fest.

23 APR Gamelan Music @ Oakton College, Des Plaines

Free Gamelan Concert
Saturday, April 23, 7:30 p.m.

Oakton Community College
1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines, Illinois
We will be performing a free concert that features classics that are centuries-old as well as more modern works. The music will range from lively to serene and will include instrumental and vocal pieces. The concert will include a brief explanation of how a typical gamelan piece is constructed.

The concert will be presented on Gamelan Nyai Panjang Sari, our iron gamelan which we acquired in 1980 and which has recently been retuned and refurbished.

The Asian Health Coalition, a partner of Get Covered Illinois, will be on campus to answer questions regarding the Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace and assist with the enrollment process.

The second year of open enrollment under the Affordable Care Act began on November 15 and will run through February 15.

14 FEB- Autism Conference @ Oakton College

Oakton Hosts Autism Conference February 14

Parents and educators of children with autism are invited to attend the conference, For the Love of Children, 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 14, at Oakton Community College, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie.

Brendan McCormick, executive director of Good Shepherd Center in suburban Hazel Crest, is the keynote speaker for this event. Additional sessions feature Mary Wonderlick, M.A., and Jennifer Wheeler and Nuccio Dargento, who are parents of children with autism.

Sponsored by Oakton Community College in partnership with A Place for Children, Inc., and Children’s Home Aid Society, the conference fee is $35 ($25 for students). Registration includes continental breakfast and a box lunch.

In-service credit and contact hours are available for professionals.
